Reasons for having the Book of Mormon

-To show "the remnant of the house of Israel"- all God's children-US- what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers.

-So that we know the covenants of the Lord- his promises to us

-To show us that we are not cast off forever (that we have a chance of doing it right and getting to Heaven!)

-To be a testimony of Jesus to those who don't yet believe

Interesting end thought of the intro: mistakes in the Book of Mormon are made by MEN, not by God! When we're doing the things that God wants us to do, we can and will make mistakes even when we are trying hard to follow the commandments.

Moroni 10:4-5 Receive the BofM, read/study it, and pray to ask if it's true. If you are sincere, you'll be shown that it is in fact the word of God, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
